Thank you for showing up Twelve months ago, I opened the studio doors for a small, free evening for the women of Corpus Christi. I hoped a few people would come. I didn't know it would turn into one of my favorite things I've ever done. This week we celebrated one full year of free monthly events: twelve nights, about ten women at a time, gathered around a table to create something, learn something, and simply be cared for. A year of good nights We've made word bracelets and wrapped gifts like pros. We've propagated plants, played Plants and Pages bingo, gone Bare-Faced and Beautiful, and dressed up for a Rose Soiree. Most recently, we closed out year one with a Girls' Night In: sheet masks, fuzzy socks, wine, light snacks, and the kind of conversation that makes everyone stay way later than they planned. Every event looks a little different, but the heart is always the same. Women come in as strangers or casual acquaintances and leave feeling seen. Why ten? People ask why I keep these events so small. Ten is the magic number. It's big enough to feel like a party and small enough that nobody gets lost in the crowd. Everyone gets a seat at the table, and everyone gets heard. A community that gives back None of this happens alone. Local women and businesses have donated swag, door prizes, wine, and even honey from a local farm, and at our last event we had more donations than ever before. Every guest went home feeling spoiled. To everyone who has donated, hosted, taught, or shown up, thank you. You made this community what it is. Year two starts now We're kicking off our second year on Tuesday, October 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM with Board Meeting, a charcuterie class. I'll show you how I build my boards, and you'll leave with your own board and supplies, just in time for the holidays. Spots are limited and fill fast, so grab yours early. And if it's full, join the waitlist. I'd love to see you at the table. Here's to another year of blooming where we're planted. With gratitude, Lori |
About the AuthorHi, I'm Lori and I'm a true "girl's girl" and I love helping women to see how beautiful they can be - to showcase them in a way they may not have seen themselves before. Like many women, I've had to fight to learn to love my body and appreciate the beauty in me. My goal is to help EVERY woman to do the same. Archives
