Shibari
The sensual art of skin and rope, made permanent in fine art portrait. A two-artist commission, by appointment only.
Shibari is Japanese for "to tie." It has come to mean many things across centuries and continents. What we work in here is the sensual art of skin and rope.
Shibari holds vulnerability alongside strength. In its erotic application, the knots can stimulate pressure points, making the experience sensual and powerful at once.
In a fine art shibari portrait, the model is the canvas. The rope rigger is the artist. The rope is the medium. The photographer lights the work and captures it.
Our goal is simple: to capture the art, the texture, the power, and the sensuality of the rope.
Two hands, one frame.
Mollie Lyons
Mollie creates the rope art during your session. She will keep you comfortable and ensure the rope is properly adjusted throughout. The shape of every shibari portrait begins with her hands.
Lori Stead
I handle hair, makeup, lashes, and the photography itself. The look is built start to finish by one set of hands, then lit and captured once the rope is set.
All included.
The Shibari Commission

- III. Hair, Makeup, and Lashes Done in-house by me. Built start to finish by one set of hands.
- IV. Complimentary Champagne If desired. Optional, never expected.
- V. 10×10 Fine Art Album A bound album of twenty photographer-curated images selected for composition, light, and the strongest expression of the work.
- VI. Private Mobile Gallery The same twenty images delivered through a private phone app for personal viewing.
- VII. 40% Off Wall Art and Add-Ons Should you wish to extend the work into framed prints or additional products.

From consultation to album.
Consultation
A phone call to talk through what you are hoping to make, answer any questions, and coordinate dates that work for you, Mollie, and me.
Hair, Makeup, and Lashes
About an hour. I handle every bit of it myself, so the day stays in one trusted set of hands before the work begins.
Rope Artistry
Mollie creates the rope work live. She will keep you comfortable, adjust as needed, and shape the piece around your body in real time.
The Shoot
Once the rope is set, I light the work and photograph it. We take the time the piece requires.
Curation & Delivery
Twenty images are chosen and retouched. Your private mobile gallery is delivered in about a week. The bound 10×10 album follows two to four weeks after that.
By appointment only.
Because Mollie also works full-time outside the studio, every shibari session is coordinated by hand. Reach out for a phone consultation and we will find a date that works for you, Mollie, and me.
